Area Information

We’ve got three good choices that are close and and large, full service stores.  Each of them has an attached liqour shop.

Publix is our go-to store – convenient and easy to get to.  They’ve got good fruits and vegetables, a good bakery, and good selection of beer and wine.  Also easy to get in and out of quickly.

Winn-Dixie is the closest – but if you go, make sure you register at the customer service counter so you get the discount.  You can use the house’s phone number also, which is already registered – just tell the cashier the phone number.

Wal-Mart is also a good choice, but a little farther away.  It’s a good choice if you need more than groceries and want to only go to one store.

Wal-Mart and  Target are both close by.

Factory Outlets – a concept that has spread around the world, and we’ve got two premium outlets in the area – both about an hour drive away.

Miromar Outlets is near Fort Myers and has 140 stores.

Ellenton Premium Outlets has 130 stores and is in Bradenton, just north of Sarasota.

While Miromar is our first choice, both are excellent outlets, and we try to get to both because they have slightly different stores in them. 

The two largest sporting goods stores in the area are Dicks and Bass Pro shops.  For fishing supplies there are a large number of bait shops and marinas in the area that have a good selection.
